Epoxy & Wood Charcuterie Board

Using resins and epoxies can help create beautiful projects, but which resin or epoxy is right for the job? Do I use a urethane resin or do I use an epoxy? (Wait, there’s a difference?!) How deep can I pour my resin or epoxy? What happens if I don’t mix using the correct ratio of resin/epoxy to hardener? How much do I pour? These are all questions (and then some) that will be answered during this class. In this two day class, we will be using the Jess Crow HDPE Reusable Forms to create a hybrid wood and epoxy cutting (or charcuterie) board. Day one will consist of a discussion about resin or epoxy and by the end of day one, students will pour TotalBoat ThickSet epoxy into an HDPE form that will become their own creation that they take home after day two. On day two (one week later), students will work with their demolded creations to flatten them and turn them into beautiful cutting boards or charcuterie boards that they will finish (during the class) and take home.

Advanced Scrollsaw - Introduction to Segmentation

This hands-on workshop is perfect for those looking to explore segmentation, a technique that adds depth and dimension to woodworking projects. In this class, you will create a simple segmented design using a single wood species, shaping, sanding, staining, and finishing your piece to achieve a polished final look. The focus will be on cutting, shaping, and assembly techniques, giving you the skills to enhance your scroll saw projects with layered and contoured details. This class is designed for those who have experience using a scroll saw or have completed a basic scroll saw class. Join us and learn how to bring your scroll saw projects to life with segmentation!

Intermediate Hand Cut Joinery: Lap Joints

If you’re interested in hand tools and hand cut joinery, this series is for you! Take one or all, at your own pace and in your own order. The lap joint is one of the easiest and most used joints in woodworking. Offering more strength than a butt joint and less complexity than a dovetail, a lap joint can be used to make sturdy furniture or decorative corners. Students will make 2 joints in the class, a standard half lap and then a mitered half lap for aesthetic and strength.
