Box Making

Box making is a great way to build your woodworking skills. It does not take a large amount of expensive material to build a decorative wooden box. The skills learned scan be transferred to other types of projects. High quality boxes can really show your craftsmanship. Boxes make great gifts for many occasions. Students will explore different aspects of basic box making such as joinery, lids, glue-ups, handles, and feet. Each student will make one box.

Basic Bowl Turning

Intermediate class. Learn the basics of bowl turning on a lathe. Utilizing face plates, chucks and bowl gouges. Previous knowledge of turning is recommended but not required, whether having taken a class, or real-world experience.

Woodturning Fundamentals

Saturday, April 18, 2026, 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM

Beginners class. No knowledge required prior to class. Woodturning orientation class to learn the fundamentals of the tools and supplies often used in woodturning. We will cover safety, terminology, types of tools and accessories. This will not be a hands-on class; it will be more lectures and discussion.

Door Making

Learn to make a raised panel and shaker door. These doors will be made with router tables. Learn what types of router bits are needed, accurate setup, how to measure parts to get the desired size and assembly techniques.

Epoxy Charcuterie Board Workshop

Join us for a hands-on workshop where you will learn how to create you own custom epoxy charcuterie board from start to finish. This 2-day class is designed for all skill levels, whether you are a complete beginner or someone looking to refine your epoxy techniques. During the workshop, participants will learn essential safety practices, proper tool usage, and best techniques for working with epoxy and wood. On day one, we will focus on preparation, including building the mold, understanding epoxy mixing and pouring techniques, and learn the do's and don'ts that help produce professional results. On day two, students will demold their boards and learn proper finishing techniques, including sanding and finishing methods that bring out the natural beauty of the wood and epoxy. By the end of the class, each participant will leave with a fully finished, one-of-a-kind epoxy charcuterie board and the knowledge needed to confidently create more projects at home. This class is in-person and interactive, allowing plenty of time for questions, demonstrations, and individual guidance throughout the process.

Maximizing Your Bandsaw Seminar

This in-depth seminar will focus on unlocking the full potential of your bandsaw. Participants will learn how to fine tune a bandsaw for smoother cuts and greater accuracy. He will also demonstrate how Carter Products accessories extend the tool’s range. Guides, mag fence, blades, inserts and a circle cutter will be highlighted for their role in precise and efficient work. The seminar will also include a brief segment on Titebond glues, focusing on the optimal types for various woodworking projects. This seminar lays the groundwork for Alex’s box-building class, offering students the chance to learn directly from a respected authority in woodworking.

Snodgrass Tour 2026

Tuesday, May 12, 2026, 9 AM - 5 PM

Build A Pin Box and Two-Drawer Wave Box Renowned bandsaw master Alex Snodgrass will lead a hands-on class devoted to building two striking projects: a four-drawer pin box and a two-drawer wave box. Instruction covers setup, cutting techniques and safe shaping methods while Alex guides participants step by step and answers questions throughout the process. He also reveals the secrets behind his signature designs, including magnetic boxes, push button boxes, the gravity pin box and an articulated snake.
