Come and Carve a Simple Decorative Spoon with Robb Webster. Learn basic carving skills, sharpening techniques, knife and tool maintenance. At the end of the class, you should have a project completed. Under 14-year-olds require adult supervision. A spoon blank will be provided
Pen turning is a form of spindle turning with a mandrel. You will need to choose and purchase two pen kits and the bushings that go with those pen kits. Everything else will be supplied so you can complete your chosen pen kits. We will cover all the basics in this class, including the lathe, tool selection for pen turning, supplies needed for making pens, sharpening, materials used in pen turning, and other tips and tricks.
Spindle turning is one of the main types of woodturning. This class will allow you to practice the basic techniques necessary to produce any spindle. All the basics will be covered, including the lathe, tool selection for spindle turning, sharpening lumber selection, and the cuts necessary to make lathe-turned spindles successfully. Wood will be provided for the project.
We will be carving a Standing Ornament for a decoration or to give as a gift. Please bring your own tools, basic carving and tool maintenance will be covered. Wood will be supplied. Please also bring a protective carving glove
Face Plate turning is an important type of woodturning. Bowls are a primary example of Face Plate turning. In this class, we will practice turning the outside and inside of a bowl before making a beautiful, finished bowl. All the basics will be covered, including the lathe, tool selection for bowl turning, sharpening, lumber selection, and the cuts that will give you success in making a bowl. Wood will be provided for the project.
