This is a 3-day comprehensive fine furniture building continuation of Woodworking I and II (intro to woodworking and kitchen table class). Beginners are welcome, but also recommended that other classes mentioned are taken prior as this is a higher end class and we want you as happy with your table as possible. The primary focus of this intermediate class is cutting on the bandsaw and shaping with a new set of skills and tools not previously introduced. Other topics covered will include floating table top design techniques and integrated apron construction, structure and functionality, and precision jig work for exposed dowel joinery. Developing upon the skills and techniques learned in Woodworking I and II, students will build a beautiful high-end console, entry, or hall table. Leg and apron wood selection is up to the instructor, and is subject to wood availability at the time of the class. Students will be asked to choose wood for their table top and lower shelf. The final finish will be up to the student. Students wishing to learn more about finishing are encouraged to enroll in our hands-on "Finishing Basics" class. Consultation with the instructor is required no later than one week prior to class, and student's wood choice must be pre-approved and provided to the instructor no later than one week prior to class. NOTE: Please do NOT wait until the last minute for this! If your wood selection does not work with the project,. At the end of class, students will have completed their table to take home. Designed for beginner woodworkers , this course offers a comprehensive introduction to woodworking. The class will also cover essential tool safety, tool anatomy, and basic calibration techniques. You'll gain hands-on experience with a variety of tools, including the planer, jointer, table saw, band saw, and drum sander as your craft your own custom end table. . The class spans Three consecutive days but may end early due to class progression, and all materials are included in the cost.
