Maximizing your Bandsaw

Join Alex Snodgrass, the leading authority on the bandsaw, for an in-depth seminar on unlocking the full potential of your bandsaw. Participants will learn how to fine tune a bandsaw for smoother cuts and greater accuracy. He will also demonstrate how Carter Products accessories extend the tool’s range. Guides, mag fence, blades, inserts and a circle cutter will be highlighted for their role in precise and efficient work. The seminar will also include a brief segment on Titebond® glues, focusing on the optimal types for various woodworking projects. Snodgrass 2026

Build A Pin Box and Two-Drawer Wave Box Renowned bandsaw master Alex Snodgrass will lead a hands-on class devoted to building two striking projects: a four-drawer pin box and a two-drawer wave box. Instruction covers setup, cutting techniques and safe shaping methods while Alex guides participants step by step and answers questions throughout the process. He also reveals the secrets behind his signature designs, including magnetic boxes, push button boxes, the gravity pin box and an articulated snake. Additionally, participants will receive exclusive access to a private video showcasing the completed projects, extending the learning beyond the classroom. This is a 3-day comprehensive fine furniture building continuation of Woodworking I and II (intro to woodworking and kitchen table class). Beginners are welcome, but also recommended that other classes mentioned are taken prior as this is a higher end class and we want you as happy with your table as possible. The primary focus of this intermediate class is cutting on the bandsaw and shaping with a new set of skills and tools not previously introduced. Other topics covered will include floating table top design techniques and integrated apron construction, structure and functionality, and precision jig work for exposed dowel joinery. Developing upon the skills and techniques learned in Woodworking I and II, students will build a beautiful high-end console, entry, or hall table. Leg and apron wood selection is up to the instructor, and is subject to wood availability at the time of the class. Students will be asked to choose wood for their table top and lower shelf. The final finish will be up to the student. Students wishing to learn more about finishing are encouraged to enroll in our hands-on "Finishing Basics" class. Consultation with the instructor is required no later than one week prior to class, and student's wood choice must be pre-approved and provided to the instructor no later than one week prior to class. NOTE: Please do NOT wait until the last minute for this! If your wood selection does not work with the project,. At the end of class, students will have completed their table to take home. In this introduction to Woodworking class, you'll have the opportunity to build a beautiful end table from solid Mahogany. Designed for beginner woodworkers , this course offers a comprehensive introduction to woodworking. You'll learn the fundamental of wood science, basic joinery methods and the importance of accuracy in construction. The class will also cover essential tool safety, tool anatomy, and basic calibration techniques. You'll gain hands-on experience with a variety of tools, including the planer, jointer, table saw, band saw, and drum sander as your craft your own custom end table. . The class spans Three consecutive days but may end early due to class progression, and all materials are included in the cost. Please ensure your attire is woodworking appropriate; no jewelry, no sweatshirts with strings, and closed-toed shoes are required. Long hair must be tied back. Teens and adults are welcome to join.

Lidded Box Turning Class

This class provides a comprehensive guide to turning a small, wooden, lidded box on a lathe. You will learn the entire process, from preparing a single wood blank to finishing the precise fit between the lid and base. This project is an excellent next step for those with basic woodturning skills who want to refine their techniques. Upon completion of this class, you will be able to: Prepare a single blank for a continuous-grain turned box. Create and size a tight-fitting tenon and mortise for the lid and base. Successfully hollow end-grain material. Finish the inside and outside of your box for a professional result. Master finishing techniques for separating the box from the waste block and creating a smooth bottom.
